Drones have attacked the Ryazan Oil Refinery, the ninth attack on the enterprise in 2025.

This is reported by Astra.

The attack on the refinery took place on the morning of December 6, 2025. The drones successfully hit the territory of the enterprise, causing a fire to break out.

It is noted that the target was a hydrotreatment, catalytic cracking and reforming unit at the refinery at coordinates 54.571337, 39.749315. In case of serious damage, this could lead to a shutdown of the plant.

The successful attack was confirmed by video footage of local residents who recorded smoke on the territory of the refinery.

The Governor of the Ryazan region, Pavel Malkov, posted on his official Telegram page that air defense systems had shot down UAVs over the territory of the Ryazan region, and the wreckage fell in several districts of the city of Ryazan.

Most recently, the plant was attacked on February 20, 2025. After two o’clock in the morning, eyewitnesses began reporting a series of explosions in the city and region, and also announced a new attack on the local oil refinery.

It was also struck by drones on the night of November 15. Before that, it was attacked on the night of October 23.

The refinery has four primary oil processing units, as well as equipment for vacuum gas-oil hydrotreating, cracking, catalytic reforming, and other complexes for the production of various products, including bitumen, LPG, sulfuric acid, and catalytic reforming products.

This refinery is the main supplier of motor fuel for the regions around the Russian capital. According to Astra , the refinery produces A-92/95/98/100 gasoline, diesel fuel, TS-1 jet fuel, liquefied gases and other refined products.

On average, the company produces about 840 thousand tons of aviation kerosene annually and is involved in supplying the Russian Air Force.
