Phantom Defense’s Specter Ukrainian electronic warfare systems were tested in the U.S.
Phantom Defense told Militarnyi that they participated in Gauntlet II — a phase of the U.S. Drone Dominance program.
As part of Gauntlet II, Phantom Defense deployed a counter-drone system that combined video interception capabilities, a command and control (C2) system for detecting and classifying targets, deploying countermeasures and verifying their effectiveness, as well as electronic warfare capabilities.
The company unveiled the Specter PRO — a dome- and directional-type electronic warfare system designed to protect strongpoints, brigade headquarters, and critical infrastructure facilities.
The tests also involved the Specter L, Specter X, and Specter XL, a family of compact electronic warfare systems designed to operate in challenging and extreme conditions.
These solutions are used by mobile teams to protect units and equipment near the front lines.
In addition, Phantom Defense demonstrated Streamhunter — a video interception system that successfully intercepted video signals from drones during the tests.
All presented solutions are integrated with a C2 system, which provided situational awareness, transmitted data on detected targets, and coordinated the operation of countermeasures, including electronic warfare systems and Streamhunter.
During testing, Phantom Defense’s electronic warfare systems demonstrated the ability to successfully jam drones.
In addition to the direct deployment of countermeasures, Phantom Defense simulated the conditions that drone operators face on the modern battlefield.
This made it possible to evaluate UAV performance under active countermeasures and test how electronic warfare systems affect their effectiveness.
The team’s successful performance and the solutions presented caught the attention of the U.S. side. Based on the results of Gauntlet II, Phantom Defense received an invitation to participate in a series of upcoming events and tests as part of the Drone Dominance program.
The company told Militarnyi that all radio-controlled platforms admitted to the relevant testing phase were affected by Ukrainian electronic warfare systems.
“Not a single radio-controlled platform passed the tests without being affected by our systems. In various cases, the interference targeted the control channel, video channel, or other elements of the radio link,” the company stated.
At the same time, detailed test results regarding specific manufacturers and models are not being disclosed.
Phantom Defense notes that the U.S. tests took place under strict restrictions on radio frequency usage, which differed from combat conditions in Ukraine.
Participation in the Drone Dominance program provided an opportunity to test the technology against a wide range of Ukrainian and foreign UAVs, as well as to gain valuable experience for the further development of the systems.
The Specter and Streamhunter systems are already in use by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to the company, integrated defense systems have detected over 11,000 enemy drones over an extended period, and more than 7,000 instances of their neutralization have been confirmed by video recordings.
“We have experience working with integrated defense systems, where over 11,000 enemy drones have been detected over an extended period, and more than 7,000 instances of their neutralization have been video-confirmed,” the company stated.
Phantom Defense is also developing modular solutions that can be adapted to new frequencies and changes in enemy tactics. The company views its participation in U.S. tests as an important step toward integrating Ukrainian combat experience and technologies into the security systems of international partners.
