€3.3B for Ukraine’s Defence & New EU Equity Grants up to €30M. #3 DIGEST BY INTEGRASYS

EU disbursed €3.3 billion to Ukraine on 18 September 2026, the fourth payment under the defence window of the €90 billion Ukraine Support Loan, earmarked for drone and missile procurement.

It follows the Commission’s approval on 11 September of an extra €6.1 billion for air and missile defence, including PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot system, and a newly announced joint EU-Ukraine air and missile defence programme built around the Freya anti-ballistic system. EU disbursements to Ukraine in 2026 are now close to €15 billion.

EIC STEP Scale Up Defence

The European Innovation Council opened Scale Up Defence this year, its first direct-investment programme for defence and dual-use technology. It offers equity investments of €10 to €30 million from a €100 million 2026 budget, and Ukrainian companies can apply directly. Deadline: 28 October 2026.

European Defence Innovation Forum (EDIF) 2026

EDIF returns to The Hague on 11 and 12 November 2026. Registration is open, and day two includes a dedicated session, “Defence Without Borders: Strengthening Europe with Ukrainian Experience.”
