The Royal Jordanian Air Force has ordered 10 Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopters.
The Bell Textron reported about this.
On November 1, the parties signed the agreement for the purchase of air vehicles at the Special Operations Forces Exhibition & Conference (SOFEX), which took place in the Jordanian city of Aqaba this week.
The country will use the new Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopters to train its Air Force pilots.
The cost of the agreement for the purchase of this aircraft has not been disclosed.
The contract involves the supply of helicopters with pilot training equipment and a comprehensive computer-based training package to provide an enhanced approach to basic and advanced helicopter pilot training at the King Hussein Aviation College at Mafraq Air Base in Jordan.
The new helicopters for Jordan will be assembled at the Bell plant in the Canadian city of Mirabel in the province of Quebec.
The Bell 505 carries up to four passengers. The helicopter features a fully digitally controlled engine and “advanced avionics that significantly reduce pilot workload and maximize safety when operating in a variety of conditions.”
The mass of the payload is 680 kg, the flight speed is 125 knots (232 km/h). The maximum take-off weight of the helicopter is about 2000 kg, its own weight reaches 989 kg. The helicopter is equipped with a Garmin navigation system.
Bell Textron has recently celebrated the 400th Bell 505 delivery since its launch in 2017.
Last month, the Jordanian Air Force took delivery of the first upgraded Air Tractor AT-802i light attack aircraft in the United States. Aircraft in the Block 4 version receive a state-of-the-art shock package from IOMAX.
This upgrade represents the latest generation of IOMAX hardware and software solutions, including an improved weapon control system.
