In the Kherson region, a group of Russian soldiers was killed while attempting to cross the Dnipro River in inflatable boats.

The boats were struck by members of the 34th Separate Marine Brigade.

The group consisted of four Russians traveling in two inflatable boats.

According to the Ukrainian military, the deceased served in the 215th Separate Guards Reconnaissance Battalion, which is part of the 98th Guards Airborne Division.

After Russian troops withdrew from Kherson to the left bank of the Dnipro, the river effectively became the line of demarcation between the main positions of the opposing sides in this sector of the front.

The river complicates offensive operations for both sides. Crossing it requires boats or other watercraft, proper coordination, as well as the organization of supply lines and the evacuation of the wounded.
