Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced his country’s readiness to sell the European Union a large batch of ammunition, including mortar shells.

As he said in an interview with Cicero, “the Europeans can do with it whatever they want” — Belgrade will not impose any restrictions on the end use of the products.

“Our warehouses are full, we produce more ammunition than France,” the president emphasized.

That’s why Belgrade has proposed that the EU sign a long-term contract, which would allow the Serbian defense industry to plan production.

In response to criticism over participating in a Russian military parade, the Serbian leader explained that this is part of a historical tradition linked to the liberation of Belgrade by the Red Army and Yugoslav partisans.

Vučić noted that since the start of the war in Ukraine, he has not met with Putin for more than three years, and that Serbia has condemned the Russian invasion.

He also reminded that Serbia has provided humanitarian and financial aid to Ukraine, which, according to him, exceeds the contributions of other Balkan countries.
