HIMARS Hits Russian Helicopter in Kharkiv Region

A Russian helicopter was destroyed using a US HIMARS rocket system in the Kupiansk sector.

The combat mission of the Ukrainian military was shown on the Telegram group StratCom of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Before the attack, a Ukrainian reconnaissance drone, which then adjusted its fire, detected the invaders’ Mi-8.

The shell fell near the helicopter, and its debris likely caused significant damage to the helicopter.

“Our sources claim that the helicopter was functionally destroyed,” the military said.

The Ukrspecsystems’ Shark unmanned aerial system has received an upgrade that increases its communication radius by 20 kilometers.

This is not the first such incident where Ukrainian artillery has managed to neutralize a Russian helicopter.

In February 2023, the Ukrainian artillery of the 14th Mechanized Brigade destroyed a Russian Mi-24 helicopter.

That time, the helicopter came under artillery strikes immediately after landing.

Previously, Ukrainian troops destroyed a Russian R-934B Sinitsa electronic warfare system in the Kupiansk sector.

The vehicle of the Russian electronic warfare system, which the invaders tried to disguise in a forest, was discovered by Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance.
