Armed Forces and National Police assaultmen mop-up Klishchiivka near Bakhmut

The Defense Forces of Ukraine liberated the village of Klishchiivka, Bakhmut District.

This was stated by Oleksandr Syrskyi, Сommander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The liberation of the village was conducted by the soldiers of the 80th Air Assault Brigade, the 5th Assault Brigade, and the Lyut (Rage – ed.) Brigade of the National Police.

In his evening address for September 17, 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also mentioned the 95th Air Assault Brigade.

I will especially note today the soldiers who, step by step, regain to Ukraine its own in the Bakhmut area… Klishchiivka! Well done!,” the president said.

Klishchiivka belongs to the Bakhmut city community. Its liberation is another stage in the upcoming return of Bakhmut himself. Thus, the Defense Forces significantly improved their position in the south of the city.

In the Russian segment of Telegram channels, it is reported that the Russian Armed Forces retreated to the railway track east of the villages of Klishchiivka and Andriivka, where they were trying to build a new line of defense.

Recall that the liberation of Andriivka was officially announced on September 15, 2023.
