In the east, the Ukrainian military liberated the village of Torske, Donetsk region, from the Russian invaders.
Serhii Cherevaty, Spokesman for the Operational Command “East”, reported about this.
The settlement is located between the recently liberated city of Lyman in the Donetsk region and the city of Kreminna, which is temporarily occupied by the Russians, in the Luhansk region.
“Our troops liberated the village of Torske, which is located on the way to Kreminna, and are striking with artillery fire at the units of the enemy who are trying to gain a foothold in Kreminna and build defenses,” he said on the air of the national telethon.
Unofficial reports about the liberation of the village of Torske in Donetsk region began to appear on Sunday afternoon.
Photos featuring Ukrainian servicemen with a blue-yellow flag at the entrance to the settlement were shared on social networks.
Previously, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the town of Lyman in Donetsk region. Volodymyr Zelensky officially announced this on October 2, stressing that the settlement was completely cleared from the invaders.
“As of 12:30 p.m., Lyman is completely cleared,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian military entered the city on October 1, but the fighting continued for some time.
On October 1, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the withdrawal of troops from Lyman, Donetsk region, which was entered by the Ukrainian troops prior to that.
The Ukrainian servicemen released a number of videos featuring them entering the city of Lyman.
Previously, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated five settlements near Lyman in Donetsk region and encircled the Russian group near Lyman.
