Czech Specialists Begin Training on Maintenance and Repair of Leopard 2A4 Tanks

Next week, a joint program involving the German company Rheinmetall and Czech specialists VOP CZ will start at the military unit in Pryslavytsi.

The Czech company announced this on its social media.

As part of the project, Czech technicians will be trained in the repair and maintenance of Leopard 2A4 tanks in service with the Czech Armed Forces.

VOP CZ is a state-owned company specializing in military technology, engineering production, and development.

In July 2025, the Czech Ministry of Defense signed a seven-year contract with Germany’s Rheinmetall, under which the company will ensure the gradual transfer of maintenance functions from the supplier to the Czech army’s logistics units.

The value of the comprehensive maintenance framework agreement is about EUR 250 million.

In addition, the contract provides for training, technical, logistical, and after-sales support, mobile infrastructure, and simulation technologies.
