Poland is investigating an incident involving Russian drones that were shot down in September.

Experts from Poland’s Military Counterintelligence Service and the Polish Prosecutor’s Office are investigating Russian drones that violated the country’s airspace on September 9-10, 2025, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in his X State of the Union address.

The investigation includes a technical analysis of the wreckage, flight paths, and crash sites of the drones.

In turn, Minister Tomasz Siemoniak said that the prosecutor’s office, military counterintelligence and NATO partner services are involved in the case.

“Our experts are analyzing all the elements related to this situation and cooperating with our partners. The Prime Minister got acquainted with the results on Monday, November 3,” said Siemoniak.

Afterward, Prime Minister Donald Tusk visited one of the counterintelligence facilities where the wreckage of the downed drones is stored.

As showed in the video, a total of 4 foreign drones were shot down in Polish airspace.

“What you see behind me is the wreckage of Russian drones that fell on Polish soil that night of September 9-10,” he said.

Tusk emphasized that Poland is actively investing in strengthening its army and modernizing its security services to guarantee the protection of its skies and territory.

“This is the end of every enemy drone that appears over Polish soil. We are working to provide the country with modern defense,” the Prime Minister said.

The investigation is ongoing, and its results may be presented to partners in the EU and NATO.

The incident became another argument for Warsaw to strengthen its air defense and develop new measures to respond to air threats.
