The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized the Azov Regiment as a so-called “terrorist organization” and banned its activities in Russia.

The Russian propaganda media reported about this.

“Recognize the Azov Regiment as a terrorist organization and ban its activities on the territory of Russia,” the court’s decision is cited.

Media also reported that the court sessions were held behind closed doors, and the hearing itself allegedly took place at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation.

The Azov Regiment reacted to such a decision of Russia and called on the USA and other countries to recognize Russia as a terrorist state.

“We call on the US State Department and authorized bodies of other states that consider themselves civilized to recognize the Russian Federation as a terrorist state! For many years, Russia has been proving this status with its daily actions. Its army and special services commit war crimes every day. Pandering these crimes or keeping silence means a complicity!” the statement said.

It was also noted that this decision is related to the explosions at the last known location of Ukrainian POWs in Olenivka on the occupied territory, where more than 50 people died.

“After the public execution of prisoners of war of the Azov Regiment in Olenivka, Russia is looking for new reasons and explanations for its war crimes. The Supreme Court of Russia recognized the Azov Regiment as a “terrorist organization.”,” the Azov Regiment noted.

The explosion in Olenivka

As previously reported, on July 29, an explosion occurred in the premises where Ukrainian prisoners of war were held in Olenivka, Donetsk region. Russian propagandists announced that more than 50 people died on the spot and several dozen were injured. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were accused of shelling this place.

Subsequently, the Security Service of Ukraine has made public the telephone conversations of the so-called “DPR” fighters. The fighters discussed the provocation and explosions from inside the building. At the same time, enemy artillery was deliberately located next to this building to hide the explosions.

The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that mercenaries of the “PMC Wagner” are behind the explosions. They committed a terrorist act to hide the embezzlement of funds allocated for the maintenance of prisoners of war.

Russian propagandists tried to assure that the building was destroyed as a result of shelling from the HIMARS rocket system.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, US officials told Politico that no evidence of weapons provided by the US was found at the site. One official said there was evidence to suggest the attack was not carried out by Kyiv.
