Ukraine Struck Tyumen Oil Refinery, Protected by Net, 2,000 km From Ukrainian Border

Ukrainian forces used drones to attack the Tyumen Oil Refinery, located 2,000 km from the Ukrainian border.

Video footage of the fire was published by local channels and shared and geolocated by the monitoring resources Exilenova+ and Supernova+.

The footage shows a large-scale fire at one of the oil refining units, protected by an anti-drone net, and a plume of smoke rising at another location, likely related to a pressure relief at the refinery.

The governor of the Tyumen region, Alexandr Moor, reported a fire on the refinery’s premises.

The Tyumen Oil Refinery, formerly known as the Antipinsky refinery, is one of the largest deep-refining facilities in Russia’s Ural Federal District.

Its primary refining capacity exceeds 9 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The refining depth reaches 98%, which minimizes fuel oil production and increases the yield of light petroleum products.

Products include diesel fuel, AI-95/AI-92 gasoline, propane-butane, petroleum coke, and sulfur. The refinery also planned to launch a hydrocracking unit for the production of jet fuel and petrochemicals, but the modernization was halted due to the owner’s financial difficulties.
