In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian troops thwarted a mechanized assault by Russian units.
The 14th Mechanized Brigade reported that the Russians tried to advance toward the village of Petropavlivka, which is located near the city of Kupiansk.
These positions are also defended by the 30th Mechanized Brigade.
On November 28, the Russian command sent armored personnel carriers, motorcycles, ATVs, and dozens of assault vehicles for fighting.
Artillery and attack drones were actively used to repel the attack.
As a result of the battle, the Russian invaders lost three armored personnel carriers and nine other vehicles.
There are 26 eliminated Russian attack aircraft on the battlefield.
“Today, these ‘liberators’ got a sincere and heartfelt slap in the face that it seems they will now have a long time to explain to their superiors why the ‘great offensive’ suddenly burned down,” the servicemen summarized.
The General Staff said that in this sector, Russians are trying to advance almost daily to the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of Pishchane, Petropavlivka and Kruhliakivka.
“The Kupiansk sector is one of those where the situation requires the most attention. The fighting here is highly dynamic and requires maximum coordination,” the General Staff noted.
The city continues to detect Russian soldiers who have infiltrated through Ukrainian combat formations in order to destroy or capture them.
“The scale of the Russian leadership’s lies about the situation in Kupiansk is staggering. The truth is that in the days following their statements, less than 40 Russian radio signals were recorded in the city,” the General Staff added.
On the outskirts of Kupiansk, units are holding the designated lines and increasing firepower to block the enemy’s supply routes.
