In the early morning hours of July 22, attack drones attacked a Russian Morozovsk military air base in the Rostov region and the Tuapse oil refinery in the Krasnodar Krai.

Militarnyi reported on this.

Videos from eyewitnesses are posted online, showing the flight of drones and the fires that followed the attack.

One of the videos from the locals shows two drones flying over the city of Morozovsk one after the other at dawn, followed by powerful explosions.

The Astra Telegram channel claims that the drones attacked a military air base located near the city.

Later, footage was posted online showing a column of smoke rising over Morozovsk after the explosions. Eyewitnesses reported a fire at the military air base. There are no details about the damage yet.

For his part, Governor Vasily Golubev said that Russian air defense had allegedly “suppressed and destroyed” 47 drones in the north of the Rostov region. As a result of “falling debris” in several areas, “dry grass” caught fire, which has allegedly been extinguished.

It is not the first time that the Russian Morozovsk military air base has been hit by attack drones. The 559th Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 1st Guards Composite Aviation Division of the Russian Aerospace Forces is based at the airfield. Su-34 fighter-bombers, as well as Su-30 and Su-35 fighters, are based at the air base, which Russia uses to launch air strikes against Ukraine.

Also on the night of Monday, July 22, attack drones attacked an oil refinery in the Russian city of Tuapse, Krasnodar Krai.

The first explosions near the oil refinery occurred after 3 a.m. Sergey Boyko, head of the Tuapse district, said that Russian air defense had allegedly intercepted eight attack UAVs.

At around 6 a.m., explosions were heard in Tuapse again. After that, a fire broke out on the territory of the oil refinery over an area of 50 square meters, allegedly “as a result of the fall of debris” from drones. At 8 a.m., it was announced that the fire had been extinguished at the oil refinery.

This Russian oil refinery has been hit by drone strikes before, which led to a shutdown.
