Drones attacked oil refineries in the Ryazan and Voronezh regions of Russia.
A fire broke out at the Ryazan oil refinery. Pavel Malkov, governor of the region, confirmed the attack.
He said that one drone was allegedly shot down. The official did not disclose the number of UAVs that flew to the Ryazan refinery.
According to eyewitnesses, the attack on the oil refinery took place around 3 a.m.
At first, a humming sound was heard, followed by two explosions. A video of the fire was posted on social media.
The Ryazan oil refinery is controlled by Rosneft state-controlled company. Most of its products are exported.
Alexander Gusev, governor of the Voronezh region, said that the drone was neutralized in the suburbs of Voronezh.
“Another UAV was shot down in the suburbs of Voronezh by air defense forces and electronic warfare equipment. The falling wreckage smashed the glass in a building under construction,” Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev wrote at around 4:00 a.m.
Sources of the Ukrayinska Pravda media outlet reported that drones from the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine had hit the Russian targets.
According to the source, the attack aftermath on the oil refinery in the Voronezh region of Russia is being clarified.
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine usually neither officially confirms nor denies intelligence special operations. At the same time, the agency emphasizes that the oil refineries that feed the Russian military industry are a legitimate military target of Ukraine, which has been resisting Russia’s armed aggression for 11 years.
As previously reported, on the night of April 27, drones attacked the oil infrastructure in the Krasnodar Krai.
