Ukraine has recently received a batch of Starlink terminals from Poland.
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced that eight thousand terminals were included in this batch.
According to him, some of them will be used to ensure communication in the “Invincibility points”.
“Recently, we have received a new batch from Poland – 8 thousand terminals. We will transfer a significant part of them to Invincibility points. Hundreds of Starlinks are already working there so that Ukrainians can call an ambulance or work during blackouts,” Fedorov pointed out.
The Minister noted that during the ten months of the full-scale Russian invasion, thanks to international donors and partners, it was possible to obtain almost 30,000 Starlinks for Ukraine.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation emphasizes that Starlink has become part of Ukrainian critical infrastructure. Hospitals, schools, energy and social sectors continue to work due to the terminals.
Also, with Starlink, workers of the telecommunications sector are able to restore communication with the liberated territories quickly. Thanks to this, Ukrainians can contact their relatives.
In addition, a significant part of Starlinks is being received by the military. This is a competitive advantage of Ukrainians that the enemy does not have.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation team continues to negotiate with SpaceX and partners so that Ukraine can receive even more Starlinks.
In December 2022, it was reported that more than 10,000 devices would be delivered to Ukraine in the coming months.
Starlink is a SpaceX project providing broadband Internet access through a network of satellites.
The system works at any point on the planet. Terminals can be installed wherever satellites can directly locate them. The system is tied to small terminals with phased antenna arrays and ability to track satellites.
