Second Bayraktar Kizilelma jet-powered UAV assembled in Turkey

BAYKAR Teknoloji completed the assembly of the second prototype of the Bayraktar Kizilelma jet combat drone.

This was reported by Selçuk Bayraktar from BAYKAR.

“We said goodbye to Kizilelma, the 2nd production prototype, which we prepared for the TEKNOFEST KARADENİZ exhibition in Samsun,” said Selçuk Bayraktar.

The first sample was completed in June 2022. The first flights of both prototypes are expected in 2023.

Bayraktar Kizilelma is a jet-powered supersonic stealth сarrier-capable UСAV developed as part of the MIUS (Muharip İnsansız Uçak Sistemi) project.

The new device idea in sketch was presented on August 4, 2021, and in a year, Bayraktar Kizilelma reached the prototype stage.

According to the data provided by the company, the UCAV will have an operation ceiling of 12,000 m, a takeoff weight of 5.5 tons, a payload of 1.5 tons, and a load capacity of ammunition of 1 ton.

While the MIUS-A would be close to supersonic speed with the Ukrainian АІ-25TLT engine, the MIUS-B would be supersonic with the Ukrainian АІ-322F engine and the Turkish TEI TF-6000.

The MIUS-B will have a 2.5 times more powerful engine, which significantly distinguishes it in technical characteristics from the MIUS-A.

It is assumed that the drones of the MIUS project will be launched from the TCG Anadolu (L-400) universal landing ship without the help of the ejection system.

In November 2021, the Turkish defense company BAYKAR ordered jet engines from the Ukrainian Ivchenko-Progress state enterprise АІ-322F and АІ-25TLT.
