At the border between Belarus and Ukraine up to seven battalions of the Belarusian military are stationed, but the likely attack was not mentioned.

Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, Spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported this on the air of the nationwide telemarathon, as per “Ukrayinska Pravda.”

He stressed that 3.5 to 4 thousand soldiers build up the army of Belarus, however, the Russian troops are also stationed in the country. Their number is unknown.

In addition, Oleksandr Motuzyanyk noted that since the Belarusian side provides Russia with all the necessary logistics, it would not be correct to reject the option that the Russians would be able to quickly transfer additional forces to the territory of Belarus and resume the offensive.

“As of now, we do not see this (the formation of troops for the offensive, – ed.),” he said.

At the same time, the Ukrainian military is defending the frontier of Belarus in order to prevent a potential attack.

“Russian and the Belarusian army actions make us keep the forces there. This is the Russian tactic as of today. The main blows are in the Luhansk region and Donetsk region, the rest is constant shelling, the distraction of our attention, and forging the actions of our units. In this way, they force us to hold the troops up there,” – said Oleksandr Motuzyanyk.

In addition, Motuzyanik stressed that currently, the Belarusian army accounts for 60 thousand servicemen, but Lukashenko wants to increase it by 20 thousand more. Thus, momentarily there is active recruitment of Belarusians into the military service.

Recently, Poland completed the construction of the first stage of the wall at the border with Belarus. The first segment is 140 km long. In total, the wall should become almost 200 km long.
