The Swedish government is allocating $108 million to purchase US weapons for Ukraine.

These funds are part of a previously announced aid package for Ukraine, according to the Swedish Ministry of Defense.

Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson emphasized that thanks to the PURL program, Ukraine can quickly gain access to US defense equipment, including modern air defense systems and ammunition.

“This is crucial for Ukraine to be able to defend itself against further attacks by Russia. Sweden’s support is long-term, comprehensive, and based on Ukraine’s needs,” he noted.

This is the fourth time Stockholm has allocated funds under the PURL program.

Including this new contribution, Sweden’s total support through this mechanism amounts to $543 million.

It was previously reported that Sweden is also investing $400 million in the production of Ukrainian drones.
