The wreckage of Shahed attack drones used by Russia to attack the Odesa region on the night of July 25 was discovered in Romania.
Romanian Foreign Minister Luminița Odobescu announced this.
The Romanian media outlet G4Media.ro published video and photos of the wreckage.
“Russia has carried out even more horrific attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure. The wreckage was discovered on Romanian territory,” it wrote.
Odobescu added that Romania has informed its allies about the incident and is coordinating with them. She added that Romania strongly condemns these irresponsible actions by Russia.
For the second night in a row, Romania declared an air alert due to the threat of falling wreckage from drones used by Russians to attack the border areas of the Odesa region of Ukraine on the night of July 25.
Residents of the Romanian district of Tulcea near the Danube received RO-Alert notifications around 01:20 a.m.
In the afternoon, the media reported that the wreckage, probably belonging to Russian Shahed/Geran attack drones, was discovered near the village of Plauru. The military continues to inspect the area.
In the morning, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that during last night’s attack on the Odesa region, three Shahed drones crossed the state border with Romania.
In total, on the night of July 25, Russia attacked Ukraine’s infrastructure facilities with 38 Shahed-131/136 drones. The attack targeted the south of the Odesa region and central Ukraine.
The attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missiles, electronic warfare, and mobile AA fire teams. Air defense systems were also operating in the Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr, and Cherkasy regions.
According to the Telegram channel monitor, which tracks the flights of Russian drones and missiles, one Shahed flew 11 kilometers into Romania on the night of July 25 during an attack on the Ukrainian town of Vylkove. This is not the first time that Russian drones have violated Romania’s airspace.
