Russian Su-25SM attack aircraft crashed in Russia. The aircraft crashed near the village of Gusev in the Rostov region.

This was reported by the Russian media.

According to the reports, the pilot did not survive. The photos released by the media feature parts of the fuselage, the helmet, and the pilot’s seat.

The wreckage of the plane shows that it belonged to the troop group “V” of the aggressors. The aircraft tail number – RF-90958 – is also visible.

Due to open data, the aircraft was identified as belonging to the 266th Assault Aviation Regiment. This military unit was restored after the start of Russian aggression in 2015. The regiment is based at the Steppe airfield in the Trans-Baikal region (Eastern Military District) and is part of the 11th Air Army of the Russian Armed Forces.

The crashed aircraft belonged to the so-called Mongol Arat Squadron. The reasons for the aircraft crash are unknown.
