On April 3, 2022, a Russian aircraft fired at a grain elevator near Mykolaiv.
Militarnyi reports about this with reference to the publication of the Ukrainian Southern Agrarian Group LLC, the owner of the damaged object.
As a result, the material and technical capacity of the grain elevator complex was damaged. The work of the enterprise is paralyzed by the damage.
“With God’s will, we will restore our capacities in the near future,” – said the company message.
The rocket fired against a civilian object was captured by the surveillance cameras.
It is most probably the Kh-59M Ovod cruise missile or one of its modifications.
This is a Russian high-precision air-to-ground missile designed to destroy important objects that are being covered by air defenses.
The Kh-59M missile is capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 115 km. This range is provided by the work of a turbojet engine located in the under-fuselage nacelle. The missile uses a Tekon-1A guidance system, a radio altimeter, and a Tubus-2A thermal homing head.
The weight of the warhead is between 280 and 320 kg, depending on the type.
In Soviet times, Su-24M bomber jets were used as the main carriers of the Kh-59s.
