Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov shared a video of the launch of an unknown Ukrainian missile.

The footage of the launch was published by Danilov on his Twitter.

“The missile development program of the President of Ukraine in action. The tests are successful, the engagement is effective. “Sevastopol waits, Kamchatka waits, Kronstadt…” Danilov commented.

The video does not feature the launcher and because of the darkness, the missile itself is not visible.

Judging by the sound, most likely, the solid fuel rocket engine worked.

It can be both sustainer and booster: the video does not show the moment of disconnection of the engine from the missile.

Due to the specifics of the launch, it becomes clear that the missile is most likely a cruise one.

Militarnyi previously reported that Ukraine was developing a cruise missile for strikes on Russian territory.

Back in April this year, a representative of the Ukrainian defense ministry, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Drive reporters that the designers were working on modifying the Neptune anti-ship missile to engage ground targets.

As part of the project, the missile was supposed to receive a new guidance system, which at the beginning of the invasion had not yet been developed. In particular, certain kinds of chips were required to complete the system, but it was close to completion.

The publication notes that the new missile can be launched from the same launcher as Neptune.

It has a maximum range of 400 kilometers and 350 kilograms warhead (150 kg in the anti-ship version).

Journalist Yurii Butusov said that a modified version of the Neptune missile was used to strike the launchers of the 5P85SM2-01 С-400 Triumph SAM in Crimea.
