On the night of July 4, around 9:30 p.m., Russian depots exploded in the Russian-occupied city of Makiyivka, Donetsk region.

The local media reported the damage to the object.

The occupation administration claims the cause of the fire to be a missile attack by Ukrainian HIMARS systems.

According to eyewitnesses, the shock wave from the detonation passed through the entire city and reached neighboring Donetsk. Many houses have broken windows.

Subsequently, the Center for Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the attack on the strategic object of the enemy.

“As a result of the effective fire impact of units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, another warehouse of Russian terrorists in temporarily occupied Makiyivka ceased to exist,” the statement reads.

The explosion presumably blasted out at the Yasynivka Coke Plant, located on the northern outskirts of the city and less than 20 kilometers away from the battle line and the nearest rear position from which artillery could be working.

Judging by the scale of the explosion, the missile strike destroyed a large supply of fuel and lubricants, which should temporarily paralyze the operations of the invaders in the Donetsk region.

The destruction of the strategic object should also significantly undermine the logistics of the Russian troops in the Donetsk direction, forcing them to change the routes of fuel delivery for military equipment.

This is not the first incident at this facility. Militarnyi previously reported on the fire of railway fuel tanks, which the occupation administration attributed to the impact of an explosive object.

According to the emergency services of the invaders, on the night of November 21, the burning of two fuel tanks with a volume of 70 cubic meters was recorded.

The fire broke out on the railway track behind the oil depot.
