Defense forces liberated six villages in the Oleksandrivka sector of Dnipropetrovsk Region—Ternove, Zaporizke, Novogeorgievka, Vorone, Sichneve, and Maliivka. They advanced up to 25 kilometers.
ArmyInform, the online media outlet of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, reported on this.
According to the media, the settlements were liberated by the 425th Skelya Regiment. At the same time, according to sources cited by Militarnyi, Airborne Forces brigades are also actively participating in the offensive.
It is noted that the Defense Forces liberated a total of 126 square kilometers of occupied territory, with an advance depth of 25 kilometers.
During the offensive, the Russian 120th Marine Division and units of the 68th Army Corps suffered critical losses. In particular, in Temyrivka, the concentration points of personnel from the Russian 656th Motorized Rifle Regiment were destroyed.
An important logistics route for the enemy runs through this settlement. The advance of the Defense Forces’ units made it possible to bring it under fire control and extend the operational range of strike drones.
“We don’t know how long this operation lasted, since it was shrouded in what is known as the ‘fog of war,’” Lieutenant Colonel Serhiy Misyura noted.
In late May, it was reported that the Defense Forces had driven the invaders out of approximately 46 square kilometers of territory on the Oleksandrivka sector of the front—at the junction of the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
The operation took place for a long time under a media blackout, with no information leaked to the public.
At that time, Ukrainian troops managed to drive the invaders out of the village of Novoselivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region and from the territory south of it—up to the outskirts of the village of Vorone—covering a total area of 8.31 square kilometers.
Meanwhile, in an area of 38.52 square kilometers near Tovste and Novokhatsk, which the Russian military had completely occupied, as well as in Sichneve, Piddubne, and Zelenyi Hai, operations to clear out groups of invaders were still underway.
In early July, on a neighboring section of the front, the 37th Marine Brigade and the 79th Tavriya Airborne Assault Brigade liberated the village of Novokhatsk in the Donetsk region.
