Kyiv Hosted First-Ever Drone Parade

Kyiv hosted the world’s first parade of military unmanned systems, featuring UAVs, naval drones, and aerial drones. Fighter jets from the Air Force also took part in the demonstration.

A video of the parade was posted on the Office of the President’s YouTube channel as part of the live broadcast of the celebrations marking Ukraine’s Independence Day.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine filmed the parade. During the event, a wide range of Ukrainian-developed systems was showcased, which the Defense Forces use to carry out combat, reconnaissance, logistical, and evacuation missions on the front lines and at sea.

Dozens of ground-based robotic systems for various purposes, including the “Rys Pro” and TerMIT, drove down Khreshchatyk. Among the systems on display were cargo platforms, evacuation systems, and combat robotic systems, some of which were equipped with multiple-launch rocket systems.

Groups of various types of drones flew through the sky above the capital. Spectators were shown SHARK and P1-SUN UAVs, heavy bomber drones, as well as interceptor drones designed to destroy Russian aerial targets. Mirage 2000 and F-16 fighter jets were also included in the parade’s aerial segment.

At the same time, maritime unmanned vehicles used in special operations passed along the Dnipro River. Among them were the MAGURA and Sea Baby strike drones, as well as reconnaissance variants and maritime drones equipped with anti-aircraft missiles.

Since 2022, Kyiv has not held traditional military parades to mark Independence Day. Instead, in recent years, destroyed Russian military equipment has been displayed on Khreshchatyk as a symbol of Ukrainian resistance.
