Ukraine has received a new shipment of F-16 mobile simulators. Now, Air Force pilots will have more opportunities to practice complex combat scenarios and hone their flying skills.
The Ministry of Defense announced this on July 13.
The Ministry emphasized that there are only a handful of such systems worldwide, and their mobility makes it possible to transport the equipment easily, ensuring uninterrupted training across various locations.
The new delivery will increase training intensity and expand opportunities to train more crews without compromising training quality.
“Now our pilots have even more opportunities to train, practice complex combat scenarios, and hone their skills without using actual aircraft. We continue to strengthen the capabilities of the Air Force and develop a modern pilot training system in accordance with NATO standards,” Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov noted.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to the partners of the Air Power Capabilities Coalition—the governments of the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Austria—as well as to the development companies for their support.
In late April, the Ministry of Defense reported receiving the first mobile simulators for training F-16 fighter pilots. In addition, Sweden provided Ukraine with specialized equipment for maintaining military airfields.
The Ministry of Defense noted that the use of this new equipment will enable airfields to remain operational 24/7 in any weather conditions, which is critical to the effectiveness of combat operations.
In June, Ukraine also received 10 Czech-made ALTO NG light training aircraft for cadet flight training and pilot training.
Last month, Ukraine’s Defense Minister announced that Norway would fund the maintenance of the Ukrainian Air Force’s F-16 fighter jet fleet.
In addition, Belgium plans to transfer seven F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of 2026 as part of its military aid.
