Satellite images have confirmed the results of strikes on the warehouses at Khalyno military airfield and the base of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate in Russia’s Kursk region.

The images, published by Radio Liberty, show the aftermath of the attacks carried out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the night of July 31.

The strikes targeted storage facilities for aviation weapons and equipment near the Khalyno military airfield (military unit #75079) in Kursk, partially destroying at least one building on the military facility.

Ukrainian Navy units were reportedly involved, that may indicate that modified Neptune cruise missiles may have been used.

However, Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk did not confirm or deny the use of anti-ship missiles in the attack.

Additionally, a fire broke out at the base of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry (military unit #42699), located near the ammunition depot.

Although the satellite photos do not provide detailed views of the impact site, traces of powerful explosions or fires are visible near the buildings.

Russian Telegram channels linked to the military reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces Command ordered the use of unguided bombs in the combat zone, avoiding the use of UMPK kits that allow bombers to steer clear of air defense systems.

This may suggest the strikes on the storage sites were successful.

Recently, hostilities in the Kursk region have intensified, resulting in the downing of a Russian Ka-52 helicopter and damage to a Mi-28 helicopter by a drone.

In addition, Russian propagandist Yevhenyi Poddubny was also seriously injured after his car was blown up by an FPV drone.
