Russia has lost over 1 million troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian General Staff reported this on the morning of June 12.
In particular, over the past day alone, the enemy lost 1,140 personnel from the invading military.
According to statistics from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in just the past year and a half, Russians have lost more than 628,000 troops.
In total, in 2022, the Russian invaders lost 106,720 personnel (an average of 340 per day). In 2023, enemy losses amounted to 253,290 personnel (an average of 693 per day).
For the year 2024, enemy losses are estimated at 430,790 personnel, which averages 1,177 per day of active combat.
“As of June 4, 2025, enemy losses have already exceeded 200,000 personnel. On average this year, the enemy has been losing 1,286 troops daily,” the General Staff reported.
Ukraine’s General Staff of the Armed Forces first released enemy loss statistics on March 1, 2022. At that time, it was reported that 5,710 invaders had been eliminated and 200 captured. The high combat intensity complicated the count.
On March 2, the total losses of Russian military personnel rose to 5,840, with confirmation of 130 invaders eliminated in a single day.
Already the next day, after data clarification, enemy losses were reported at 9,000 troops.

As of June 12, 2025, the Goryushko project, which analyzes social media posts by relatives of the deceased and obituaries in the media, has identified by name 114,000 killed Russian soldiers.
This figure does not include Ukrainians illegally mobilized by Russia in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk (ORDLO), those who died away from the front line or from wounds while already in the rear, or foreign mercenaries.
