Satellite imagery has confirmed that a strike by Ukrainian drones on the Kronstadt plant in the Moscow region resulted in damage to a production workshop.
Analysts from the Dnipro OSINT project reported a significant fire at the site.
The released images appear to show evidence of impacts from eight strike drones during an early morning attack on May 28.
This Russian drone manufacturing plant is located in the Moscow suburb of Dubna.
The strike by Ukrainian drones targeted the central part of the workshop — likely the final assembly section of UAVs, constructed in 2022.
After the drone strikes, which, according to available videos on social media, easily penetrated the building’s roof, a severe fire broke out.
“This may already indicate the effectiveness of the strike, as one-third of the workshop, if not the entire facility, has been put out of operation,” analysts wrote immediately after the strike.
The plant in Dubna belongs to the group of companies of the Russian joint-stock company Kronstadt and specializes in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), primarily for military use.
The enterprise produces, among other things, large drones such as the Orion, which are used in the war against Ukraine.
According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the new Russian Banderol cruise missile is also manufactured there.
Since the beginning of the war, the plant has been operating in three shifts to support the Russian army and was expected to reach full capacity in 2024.
On the night of May 29, the Avangard plant in Saint Petersburg, which specializes in manufacturing electronics for Russia’s defense industry, caught fire.
