Polish Foreign Minister: Russia Could Stage False Flag Attack On Itself To Justify New Aggression

Russia may be preparing a “false flag” operation on its own territory to use as a justification for new aggressive actions against European countries.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski wrote this on the social media platform X.

According to the Polish minister, recent Kremlin statements suggest they are laying the informational groundwork for possible future operations by Russian intelligence services.

“This sounds like a provocation. I expect a false flag attack on Russian territory, to which Putin will ‘respond,’” Sikorski wrote.

The Polish Foreign Minister stated this in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s threats to strike European countries if drones targeting targets in Russia are launched from their territory.

The Russian leader also claimed that the Baltic states are supposedly hiding the presence of drones in their airspace and calling them Ukrainian to avoid escalation with Moscow.

“They understand there will be a retaliatory strike. I think everyone understands this, or should understand it. That’s why they are trying in every possible way to distance themselves from it,” Putin said during an informal meeting with graduates of military academies.

Radosław Sikorski drew a historical parallel with events on the eve of World War II, recalling the Gleiwitz incident of August 31, 1939.

At that time, Nazi Germany staged an attack on a radio station in the border town of Gleiwitz (now Gliwice), using Polish uniforms and symbols in order to create a pretext for invading Poland.

Escalation of relations between Europe and Russia

Recently, the Chief of the General Staff of the United Kingdom, General Sir Roly Walker, said that the British Army would be prepared to strike Russia within minutes in the event of a threat to NATO’s eastern flank.

According to him, troops and weapons on NATO’s eastern flank must be ready “to strike and act within 30 minutes.”

Meanwhile, the Dutch armed forces have, for the first time in more than 30 years, practiced setting up a prisoner-of-war camp in case of a war with Russia.
