Satellite image analysis has revealed damage to the main building of the Dubna Satellite Communications Center near Moscow.
Militarnyi obtained and analyzed satellite images confirming this.
They show blackening of the roof of the building, where the “brains” of the center are located.
According to Militarnyi’s analysis, the building houses server equipment and a control center.
Among other equipment, it contains a main control panel that analyzes operational data for the center, as well as operator workstations.
In addition, a hole is clearly visible in an adjacent building, which also plays a significant role in the satellite communications center’s operations.
On June 22, 2026, the General Staff of Ukraine reported a strike on the Dubna Satellite Communications Center. The facility, located in the Moscow region, is the largest of its kind in Russia and one of the largest in Europe.
It provides a wide range of satellite communications functions, including management of satellite links across the territory of the Russian Federation and beyond, and is also a key hub for the distribution of state and commercial television broadcasts.
The facility has a dual-use function, performing both military and security-related tasks.
In addition, the Ukrainian Defense Forces also targeted other elements of the system. On September 10, 2025, jet-powered drones hit headquarters buildings and a communications node within the facility (military unit 81415).
The system collects data from the orbital group, compares it with information from other regions, and adjusts measurement accuracy and coordinates. It also plays an important role in Russian military aviation navigation, without which flights become more difficult.
Previously, a strike was launched against the Crimean center in August 2025, when drones from the Prymary special unit struck the RT-70 radio telescope and several Utes-T radars.
