Poland Has Begun Sending Mobilization Cards to Citizens

Polish recruitment centers have begun sending mobilization cards to citizens. This is a routine procedure carried out annually to assign specialists to specific tasks in advance in case of a mobilization order or the outbreak of war.

The document is issued in peacetime and is intended solely for informational purposes, according to RMF24.

The cards are primarily issued to reservists subject to military service, but they are also sent to civilian specialists in critical sectors: medical professionals, IT specialists, logistics experts, as well as workers in the energy, transportation, communications, and intelligence sectors.

The mobilization card contains clear instructions regarding the specific military unit and location where the individual is required to report immediately, but only after an official declaration of mobilization or martial law is issued by Poland.

Potential conscripts who ignore this requirement face imprisonment for a term of three years.

Assignments may be canceled if the individual reaches the age limit for reserve service, moves abroad permanently, is sentenced to actual imprisonment, or for health reasons.

A deferment is also granted to one parent if both spouses raising a minor child receive mobilization orders at the same time.

Citizens’ assignments are determined by the colored stripes on the mobilization card. These indicate the type of assignment and the nature of their obligations to the defense ministry.

A red stripe is designated for reservists who are required to report immediately for active military service in a designated unit.

A green stripe means that the reservist will be called by a separate summons or through a public announcement.

The blue stripe indicates a civilian mobilization assignment. It is intended for defense system employees and civilian specialists who, in the event of war, are required to report to a specified address to perform work to support the needs of the armed forces.
