Ukrainian Ballistic Missiles To Strike Russia in Just a Few Weeks — Fire Point CEO

Ballistic missiles manufactured by Fire Point will strike targets on Russian territory in just a few weeks.

Iryna Terekh, the company’s CEO, announced this on the sidelines of the “Photonics4Defense 2026: Technology Exchange & Matchmaking” event.

According to her, the FP-7 has already successfully completed two stages of testing. The company is now preparing to test the product under combat conditions. This stage is also part of the missile’s certification process.

“We expect it to be ready for deployment very soon. We’re talking about weeks, not months,” Terekh noted.

She explained that the initial stages of missile testing involve ground and laboratory tests, during which each system and subsystem—including the rocket engine and navigation equipment—is tested separately.

This is followed by flight tests, during which the company collects data on the missile’s performance and compares its actual characteristics with the calculated ones.

The third stage, which the company is currently preparing for, involves testing under combat conditions. In late November 2025, it was announced that the company planned to complete the codification process for the FP-7 tactical ballistic missile with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense by the end of 2025.

In early February 2026, Denys Shtilierrman clarified in an interview with DW that, despite hopes that the missile would enter service by the end of 2025, a “series of events” had prevented this from happening—‘we hope to complete all tests in February’.

At the same time, the FP-9 is currently undergoing flight tests, meaning it is in the second phase.

The developers note that testing the FP-9 is harder to organize because of its long range. The missile has a minimum ballistic flight distance beyond which it can no longer be programmatically stopped.

Because of this, Ukraine’s territory is insufficient for a full-scale test of the FP-9. Therefore, once the current phase is complete, its military testing may immediately proceed to operations against Russian targets.

Militarnyi previously reported that in July 2026, Denys Shtilierman, Fire Point’s chief designer, stated that the only thing standing between the start of FP-9 ballistic missile tests—involving strikes on Russia—and their implementation is the testing of the solid-fuel engine.
