Iranian air defenses shot down an Israeli Hermes 900 unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with precision-guided munitions, state broadcaster IRIB reported on Tuesday.
The drone was reportedly downed in eastern Isfahan province.
IRIB broadcast footage captures the wreckage, though it did not show typical signs of missile impact, such as shrapnel holes.
Instead, the drone appeared to have suffered structural damage consistent with a high-altitude crash.
The drone carried at least two external containers, each with four compartments believed to contain guided missiles or small precision bombs.
These munitions are typically used for targeted strikes on lightly armored vehicles, exposed personnel, or air defense assets — targets that Israel has frequently engaged since the start of its military campaign against Iran.
Later, The Times of Israel reported that the Israel Defense Forces confirmed the downing of one of its drones over Iran.
“During operational activities involving an unmanned aerial vehicle, a surface-to-air missile was launched,” the IDF stated.
Earlier, the Israeli Air Force targeted and destroyed Iranian launchers used to deploy long-range Shahed-136 kamikaze drones.
