WSJ: Bahrain and Kuwait Secretly Carried Out Airstrikes on Iran

In early July, Bahrain and Kuwait secretly carried out airstrikes on military targets inside Iran.

This was reported by The Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the operation.

During the strikes, the fighter jets hit drone and missile depots, as well as other military facilities. This is the first known instance in which both Gulf countries have directly attacked Iran.

The operation was planned in coordination with the United Arab Emirates, which, according to the WSJ, had repeatedly struck Iran since the start of the war, provided intelligence on targets, and ensured cover for the operation.

However, Kuwait’s ambassador to the United States, Al-Zain Al-Sabah, later denied his country’s involvement in the strikes against Iran.

According to him, Kuwait did not participate in military operations against Iran and did not allow its territory to be used for offensive actions against neighboring states.

The Bahraini government has not officially commented on the matter.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Iran’s recent strikes on Kuwait and Bahrain, expressing full solidarity with these countries and support for measures to protect their security and stability.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the United Arab Emirates had carried out covert strikes on Iranian territory.

One such operation resulted in the destruction of an oil refinery on the Iranian island of Lavan in the Persian Gulf, causing a massive fire and shutting down operations for several months.

At the time, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs declined to comment directly on the strikes but referred to its previous statements.

The ministry emphasized the state’s right to respond to hostile acts with military means to protect its security.
