On the morning of July 23, drones struck an oil pumping station in Russia’s Republic of Bashkortostan and an oil depot in the Ulyanovsk region, according to Exilenova+.

Large fires are burning at both facilities, with videos circulating on social media showing thick smoke and flames. Local residents have published footage of the incident.

One of the targets was the Subkhankulovo Line Production and Dispatch Station near the city of Tuymazy. Transneft-Ural operates the facility that was reportedly hit by Ukrainian Liutyi long-range drones.

The Subkhankulovo station is part of Russia’s strategic oil pipeline network. It is connected to pipelines that transport crude oil and petroleum products between Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, and other regions of Russia.

The Subkhankulovo Line Production and Dispatch Station consists of a complex of facilities that includes three pumping stations and 10 oil storage tanks. Overall, the station serves four sections of the oil pipeline network with a combined length of 612 kilometers.

Following the attack, one of the storage tanks caught fire, sending thick black smoke high into the air. Local residents reported a total of eight drone strikes on the facility.

In addition, drones targeted an oil depot in the settlement of Novospasskoye in Russia’s Ulyanovsk region. A storage tank at the site is currently on fire.
