Russians report a drone attack on an oil depot and energy company in the city of Oryol, Oryol region.
Andrey Klychkov, the region governor, reported on this, along with Russian Telegram channels.
A Russian official claims that on January 9, two unmanned aerial vehicles “crashed” into a fuel and energy facility in the city of Oryol.
Russian propaganda has once again blamed Ukraine for this drone attack.
Local Telegram channels claim that one drone crashed into an allegedly empty tank at the Orelnefteprodukt oil depot. This led to a fire, which has now been localized.
The second drone allegedly attacked Orelenergo, which supplies electricity.
Photos from local residents released on social media show a column of black smoke rising over one of the city’s districts.
According to the region governor, three people were allegedly injured in the drone attack and sustained moderate injuries. Two of them refused hospitalization.
In early 2024, one of the Russian missiles fired at Ukraine fell on a village in the Voronezh region. Local residents posted videos of damaged houses online.
A Russian Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missile, launched at the territory of Ukraine on the morning of January 2, probably fell on the village of Petropavlovka and, for some reason, did not reach the border.
According to local residents, the missile fell at 8:38 a.m. local time and exploded.
Subsequently, the governor of the Voronezh region, Gusev, confirmed that the missile had fallen in the Ostrohozk district. He called it an “emergency munition release” without specifying what it was.
