The Russian invasion forces began to use their Lancet kamikaze drones against the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

A photo of the wrecked Russian weapon was released on social media.

The wreckage of the kamikaze drone was found in the Zaporizhzhia Region of Ukraine.

It has the X-shaped tail and wings typical for the Lancet drone.

The photo features two of the four main wings still attached to the damaged hull.

It is not entirely clear whether the drone detonated after hitting a specific target, or it simply collapsed upon impact with the ground.

It is possible, per social media claims, that the Russian Lancet drone was shot down by Ukrainian fighters in the air.

The Lancet kamikaze drone is launched from a catapult and flies using an electric motor. It has several types of guidance systems: coordinate, using optoelectronic means, and combined.

The drone is equipped with a video communication channel that transmits target images allowing it to confirm success.

The system is capable of reaching a target within 40 km. Its maximum take-off weight is 12 kg. The payload weight is up to three kilograms.

Last year, Russian Zala Aero company, the Lancet UAV manufacturer, showed its tests from a sea carrier.

Back then, they launched the drone using a mechanical catapult from the BK-16E high-speed assault boat.
