U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the military operation Epic Fury, which had been underway since late February 2026, has now come to an end.

According to CNN, citing his remarks, the United States has achieved all its objectives at this stage and is ready to move toward a peaceful resolution of the conflict with Iran.

“We prefer a peaceful solution to the conflict,” Rubio said.

He also noted that the U.S. has informed Congress of the end of the operation’s active phase and will now focus on diplomacy and on maintaining stability in the Middle East.

It should be noted that Operation Epic Fury began on February 28, 2026. Donald Trump decided to launch the operation after receiving intelligence, including from Israel. The information indicated that Iran could develop nuclear weapons in the near future.

Strikes started the same day. The main targets were Iran’s ballistic missiles and drones, naval forces, defense industry, as well as nuclear facilities and locations linked to its nuclear program. The operation lasted about 5–6 weeks of intensive combat. During this time, the United States and Israel inflicted significant damage on Iran’s military infrastructure. In April, the sides reached a partial ceasefire.
