The Ukrainian Navy has first demonstrated the RBS-15 coastal anti-ship missile system, which was used in a strike on the Russian Syvash offshore drilling platform in April.
The system was presented during President Volodymyr Zelensky’s working visit to the Odesa region.
The vehicle, identified by its camouflage pattern, had previously been in service with the Finnish Navy.
Neither Finland’s Ministry of Defence nor the government has officially confirmed the transfer of this type of weapon to Ukraine.
The coastal missile system in its Finnish configuration is based on the Sisu SK242 truck chassis and carries four transport-launch containers. It is armed with RBS-15SF (Mk2) missiles, designated in Finland as MTO 85.
In the 2000s, the missiles underwent a deep modernization to the MTO 85M standard, corresponding to the Mk2 configuration with selected Mk3 features. The upgrade included integration of GPS navigation and improved resistance to electronic warfare.

The missile is 4.35 m long, 0.50 m in diameter, and has a wingspan of 1.40 m. Its launch weight, including boosters, is approximately 770–820 kg, while in-flight weight is about 650-660 kg.
The warhead weighs 200 kg and is a semi-armor-piercing high-explosive fragmentation type. In flight, the missile reaches a speed of around Mach 0.9, or approximately 1,100 km/h.
The basic Mk2 version has a range of up to 70 km, while the upgraded RBS-15SF-3 (MTO 85M), due to updated guidance algorithms, reportedly extends the range to over 100 km.
On April 6, 2026, the Ukrainian Navy first demonstrated the combat use of what is believed to be Swedish RBS-15 anti-ship missiles. A video released by the Navy showed a strike on the Syvash offshore drilling platform.
Militarnyi previously reported that during the President’s visit to the Odesa region, other coastal missile systems were also presented, including the Harpoon system and the NSM coastal missile system.
As with the RBS-15 system, there has been no official confirmation regarding the transfer of NSM systems to Ukraine.
In June 2023, the Polish defense media Defence24 reported, citing its own sources, that Ukraine was negotiating to purchase components of the NSM coastal missile system from Poland.
However, the launcher shown had a single-color paint scheme, unlike the standard camouflage pattern used by the Polish Armed Forces.
