The Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a convoy of buses carrying Russian soldiers while they were stopped on the outskirts of Makiivka.
Telegram channel Supernova+ released a video capturing the incident aftermath.
The strike targeted a convoy consisting of four buses and one KamAZ truck with “black” military plates, which had stopped on a bypass road near the outskirts of Makiyivka.
According to the source, at least 20 Russian soldiers were killed as a result of the strike, and a large number were injured. However, the video captures only one body among the vehicles.
The strike location was geolocated 45 kilometers from the frontline (here), south of Makiyivka.
The distance from the combat line, as well as the nature of the damage with numerous small fragment marks, resembles the effects of a strike by GMLRS M30A1 guided rockets with a shrapnel warhead.
This version, along with the fact of the strike on a column of Russian military equipment, is partially confirmed by Russian propagandists, who on June 13 reported a missile strike in the same area.
A month prior, Ukrainian Air Force aircraft struck a Russian battalion command center and a group of drone operators in the town of Novohrodivka, Donetsk region.
A target in the settlement of Novohrodivka was struck with a high-precision JDAM-guided aerial bomb, destroying a building occupied by the enemy.
At the time of the strike, information about the occupiers’ losses was being clarified; however, it is currently reported that at least several are missing.
In January, the Ukrainian Air Forces aviation conducted a precision strike on the command center of the 2nd Guards Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation.
The Russian command center was located in a multi-story building that was completely destroyed as a result of the airstrike.
