Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped the enemy’s offensive in the southern outskirts of Lysychansk – the General Staff

The main efforts of the invaders were concentrated in the Sieverodonetsk and Bakhmut directions. The enemy uses artillery and jet artillery, mortars, tanks along the entire line of contact.

This was reported in the evening summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

They note that the main aim of the enemy is to establish control over the settlements of Sieverodonetsk and Mykolayivka.

The invaders are strengthening their positions in the Loskutivka and Raiy-Oleksandrivka.

The outskirts of Sieverodonetsk are under constant fire.

“Units of the 2nd Army Corps, with the support of rosguard units, carried out assault operations in order to establish full control over Sieverodonetsk. The fighting continues,” the General Staff informed.

It is also emphasized that Ukrainian soldiers stopped the offensive in the direction of the southern outskirts of Lysychansk. They inflicted losses on the enemy and forced them to retreat. To resume the offensive, the invaders put forward their reserves.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy fired artillery of various calibers at positions of Ukrainian troops in the areas of the settlements of Mykolayivka, Berestove, Klynove, Toretsk, Novoluhansk, Pokrovske, Luhanske, and Kodema.

The General Staff emphasizes that the invaders are trying to establish control over the settlements of Hirske and Mykolayivka.

“In the Avdiivka, Kurakhiv and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy did not wage active hostilities,” the General Staff added.

However, it is noted that in order to prevent the transfer of reserves to other areas, the enemy fired at the positions of our troops from tanks, mortars, artillery and jet artillery in the areas of Avdiivka, Pisky, Opytne, Marinka, Hrushove and Novopola.

In addition, the Ukrainian soldiers strongly suppressed the enemy’s attempt to attack Marinka.

As previously reported, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov said that American atillery systems have already arrived in Ukraine and promised the enemy a “hot summer.”
