In the city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region, Russian infiltration groups have taken up positions in the basements of destroyed buildings.
The 41st Mechanized Brigade reports on the strikes against enemy groups on its Telegram channel.
Pilots from the 2nd Mechanized Battalion of the Pryvid unmanned aerial vehicle company are destroying the cover where scattered Russian infantry are hiding.
Footage of the strikes shows the use of TM-62 anti-tank mines as “payloads” dropped from bomber drones.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on August 4, the enemy carried out an attack in the Petropavlivka area, located in the direction of the city of Kupiansk.
In February, former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi emphasized that 97% of Kupiansk was under the control of Ukrainian troops. In early February, about 50 Russian soldiers were trapped in the city.
Since spring, Russian soldiers in Kupiansk have been disguising themselves as civilians and hiding in basements to avoid detection by the Ukrainian Defense Forces and to carry out sabotage and reconnaissance operations.
On January 12, fighters from the Khartia Corps managed to establish control over the Kupiansk City Council as part of the announced mop-up and de-blockade of the city. Since June 12, OSINT analysts have detected the presence of Russians on the northern outskirts of the city.
Also, on July 28, on the border of the Kharkiv region, near the village of Artilne, Russian troops carried out a similar attempt to penetrate in the direction of the village of Ivashkino.
On August 3, in the Kupiansk sector, UAV operators from the 151st Mechanized Brigade struck the second 2S44 Giatsint-K self-propelled artillery system to be destroyed since the start of the full-scale invasion.
