Kharkiv region defenders destroyed two enemy tanks as they attempted to break through in Vovchansk to the central part of the city, where the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding the line.

Militarnyi reports on this.

It is here that the main attack of the Russian invasion forces has been taking place in recent days.

The border guards’ FPV drone of the Steel Frontier brigade destroyed one of the tanks:

According to Yuriy Butusov, editor-in-chief of Censor.Net, soldiers of the 57th and 71st brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were also participating in the defense.

“In the city of Vovchansk, the Russians launched a tank attack, and two tanks entered the city. They were quickly destroyed by artillery, mortars, and drones of all units concentrated in Vovchansk,” he reported this episode in Telegram.

The battles with Russian infantry are ongoing on the northern outskirts, which continue to try to advance under the cover of armored vehicles.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting successful operations and taking prisoners:

“A prisoner of war from the 138th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, Andrey Yurgens, was also captured in Vovchansk, saying that his brigade, together with the 25th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade, was tasked with capturing Vovchansk ‘in two days,’ Butusov added.

Both of these brigades are part of the 6th Combined Arms Army of the Leningrad Military District, which we wrote about.
