Ukrainian strike drones attacked a Russian air defense position in Sochi.
NASA’s FIRMS satellite monitoring system detected a fire at the site.
The attack took place overnight on October 10–11.
According to the service, a satellite detected a fire at 2:29 a.m. local time.
A month earlier, a strike on an air defense system was also recorded at the same site, followed by the detonation of missiles.
The target of the previous strike was a Russian S-300 air defense system.
Ukrainian drones struck both the launcher itself and the area where additional components of the system were deployed.
As previously reported, during the same attack, Ukrainian drones launched combined strikes on Sochi’s oil infrastructure, including Rosneft’s oil depot and the Lukoil-Yugnefteprodukt facility.
According to satellite imagery, six storage tanks were destroyed at Rosneft’s oil depot, while another three were destroyed or damaged at the Lukoil-Yugnefteprodukt facility.
Militarnyi previously reported that Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed two launchers belonging to an S-300 air defense system and a Pantsir anti-aircraft missile and gun system of an unidentified version.
The unidentified Pantsir version may refer to a new batch of Pantsir-SMD systems produced by the High-Precision Systems holding company.
