Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces Hit Russian Purovsky Gas Plant — It Is Located More Than 3,000 km From Border

Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) have set a record during the full-scale war by hitting enemy targets more than 3,000 kilometers away.

The SOF press service reported this.

On September 9, SOF Deep Strike drone units hit two major Russian gas condensate processing enterprises — the Novy Urengoy and Purovsky plants.

Both enterprises are located in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, one of the key oil and gas-producing regions of the aggressor state.

The SOF reported the strike on the Purovsky plant. It is part of PJSC Novatek and is one of the company’s key enterprises.

The Purovsky Gas Condensate Processing Plant produces stable gas condensate, a broad fraction of light hydrocarbons and liquefied hydrocarbon gas.

The facility is designed to process deethanized hydrocarbon condensate from Novatek’s gas condensate fields: East-Tarkosolinskoye, Khancheyskoye and Yurkharovskoye, and in the future, fields within the Olympic license area as well.

The processing capacity of the Purovsky Gas Processing Plant corresponds to the combined production capacity of fields operated by Novatek and its joint ventures.

In 2019, the Purovsky Plant processed 10.8 million tons of deethanized gas condensate.

It produced 8.2 million tons of stable gas condensate, 2.5 million tons of broad fraction of light hydrocarbons and liquefied hydrocarbon gas, as well as 14,800 tons of regenerated methanol.

Militarnyi recently reported that Ukraine’s Defense Forces had hit the Novy Urengoy Condensate Pre-Transportation Preparation Plant. Before the strike, its combined capacity was approximately 19.5 million tons per year.

It is currently unknown which specific units were damaged or how much the plant’s capacity has been reduced as a result.
