The Volna Kupol Garant system, which was used to disrupt Starlink communications, was destroyed in occupied Kerch.

This is evidenced by satellite images from Crimea published by the Exilenova+ Telegram channel.

The electronic warfare system consists of satellite antennas installed on several trailers.

It generates powerful interference targeting a specific Starlink satellite, thereby interrupting communications with ground terminals.

The published images show the locations of burned-out installations, although most of the trailers were moved after the strikes.

One EW system covers an area of approximately 20 square kilometers.

Volna Kupol Garant operates in the 14-14.5 GHz frequency range.

However, despite its ability to generate interference, the system has significant drawbacks.

SpaceX is able to quickly detect interference in communications channels, while radio reconnaissance satellites operated by partner countries can detect the system’s powerful emissions, making it easier to locate.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces can quickly locate and strike such systems using drones.

Similar systems have already been hit by the 422nd Unmanned Systems Regiment and the Special Operations Center A of the SSU.

The Russian manufacturer Russian Dome does not disclose the technical characteristics of the system, but it is known that the cost of one unit is about 150 million rubles.
