Russian invasion troops disrupted the rotation of representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP).
The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine published the corresponding video.
It is reported that on the morning of February 12, 2025, assault groups of Russian troops near the village of Kamianske, Zaporizhzhia region, consisting of 13 soldiers, attacked the positions of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The attempted assault by the Russian invaders actually disrupted international agreements on the rotation of IAEA technical experts at the temporarily seized Zaporizhzhia NPP, as the planned route ran through the area.
Intelligence details indicate that the assault was carried out by the 135th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 19th Division of the 58th Army of the Russian Armed Forces.
The Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine did not allow any losses of combat positions due to the enemy assault.
On December 10, it was reported that a Russian drone attacked a vehicle of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission during a rotation to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
The IAEA detailed that no agency staff were injured as a result of the attack. The footage shows that the car was hit in the luggage compartment, but the armor withstood the impact.
The Russians tried in various ways to prevent the IAEA representatives from rotating, including scattering PFM-1 Lepestok anti-personnel mines.
In March, the Russians released footage from the seized Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which captured the deployment of armored vehicles inside the power unit.
The Russians use ZNPP as a shelter for their own troops and armored vehicles, as attacks on it are impossible due to the threat of a man-made disaster and radiation contamination.
The use of nuclear power plants by the Russian military as a shelter has been documented before.
In August 2022, journalists of The Insider published a video showing Russian military trucks entering the NPP site and unloading unidentified cargo.
There are also reports of firing positions being set up on the roofs of several Zaporizhzhia NPP buildings. The UK Ministry of Defense released satellite images of these positions.
